What wattage really means
Wattage is a proxy for motor strength. More watts generally means the blender can power through tougher ingredients without stalling or overheating.
But blade design and jar shape matter too — a well-engineered 1200W blender can out-perform a cheap 1500W one.
Match power to task
300–600W: light duty — soft fruit smoothies and shakes.
700–1100W: everyday blending, soups and most frozen fruit.
1200W+: ice crushing, nut butters, and green smoothies with fibrous veg.
Capacity and presets
A 2L jar suits a family; personal blenders are great for single servings. Auto-programs take the guesswork out of common recipes.
